Once you file for bankruptcy ALL LEVIES against you are immediately released and the income is released to you, unencumbered, to be used in preparing and figuring the bankruptcy plan proposal for repayment of priority and secured debt.
REDETERMINATION OF TAX LIABILITY
The Bankruptcy Court has the power to "determine the amount or legality of any tax, any fine or penalty relating to any tax, or any addition to tax, whether or not previously assessed, whether or not paid." (see Section 505). This means any illegal actions taken by the IRS can be undone in bankruptcy court and ALL TAX DEBTS CAN BE ELIMINATED COMPLETELY if successful with the legal arguments provided earlier.
LIEN REMOVED - AFTER ACQUIRED PROPERTY UNENCUMBERED
Normally a lien attaches to all property and rights to property possessed at the time, and acquired thereafter. The Bankruptcy action effectively kills the lien by destroying its power to attach to property acquired after the bankruptcy filing
